It features 3 hotel towers in total, including a stunning light-up guitar-shaped hotel, the wavy seven-story Oasis Tower overlooking a lagoon, and the Hard Rock Hotel which has plentiful deluxe and luxury suites, with signature Hard Rock artwork throughout.

The 20,000-foot Guitar Hotel is really something to behold – especially when the light show starts accompanied by orchestrated outdoor music.

The lights change in color and intensity according to the sound of the different songs.

And, as you’ll have already gathered from the name of the hotel, it also features a casino, where you can try your luck, and maybe, just maybe, you can make some easy money.

There are well over 2,000 slots, 200 table games, and a large poker room.

There are also clubs, bars, and lounges, with premium cocktails and great DJs. And you can also book your visit to coincide with live performances from A-list celebrities.

When this article was written, upcoming guests included the likes of Janet Jackson, Billy Idol, and the Jonas Brothers.

There’s fine dining, contemporary dining, snack spots, and of course, an excellent in-room dining menu.

And there’s an array of options for dining, namely CounterPoint for coffee and pastries, a luxury boutique steakhouse, the award-winning Diplomat Prime, the Playa outdoor dining area, complete with a rum and tequila bar, Point Royal for local dishes, The Canteen which is perfect for grabbing a quick bite or late night snack, and of course the main hotel bar.

While there, feel free to take advantage of the beachfront pools and water sports activities.

If you like to work out, there’s a fully equipped fitness center, and you can join the resident personal trainer for daily high intensity interval training classes, or even complimentary one-to-one training sessions.

Or, if you prefer to unwind, why not come by the spa?

Nearby, there’s golf, fishing, boat tours, diving, sailing, water taxis, museums, gardens, performing arts, arenas, stadiums, great shopping, trails, and nature centers.

While the hotel itself is home to the FlowRider® Double, one of the most sought-after surfing simulator experiences in the world.

It’s so much fun, and it’s perfect for practicing your surfing skills before taking to the ocean.

And thanks to the water sports rentals available, you can also take a kayak or paddleboard along the waterway and check out the mangrove trails, whether on a guided or self-guided tour.

The hotel’s fitness center is exceptional.

Not only is there a fully equipped gym with panoramic ocean views, but you can also attend cardio sculpt classes, Pilates classes, yoga classes, and sunrise meditation classes.

And they have live music, too!

And in sharp contrast to all the high octane activities, there’s also an excellent opportunity to sit back, relax, put your feet up, and enjoy a nice break.

Our favorite thing about Diane Oceanfront Suites has to be the convenience of the location…

Not only, as the name suggests, does the hotel have many oceanfront suites, but it’s also less than 3 miles from the downtown area, and just minutes from Fort Lauderdale and North Miami, being positioned between the Miami and Fort Lauderdale International airport, and the Port everglades and Miami’s cruise port (see also “How Far Is Miami From Orlando?“).

It’s just over 7 miles from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, so if you want to check it out but don’t have the budget to stay there, then you could consider this hotel  instead. 

It’s also a mere 4 hours to Walt Disney World and less than 4 miles to Gulfstream Park.

The rooms are beautiful, spacious, simple, unassuming and very modern. And they have great oceanfront views.

The rooms have a minimalist yet comprehensive aesthetic. Very sleek, stylish and modern, yet also featuring all the amenities you could want. 

There’s also a convenient, friendly 24-hour concierge service to guide you to your room whatever time you arrive.

6. Hotel Sheldon – 4 Star

Hotel Sheldon is conveniently situated on Hollywood Beach itself! And it offers easy access to downtown Miami, where you can explore the local nightclubs, casinos, restaurants and more.

And for the adventurous, the other local attractions include Everglades National Park, scuba diving, biking trails, boating, and hiking.

They have great modern rooms, and many of them feature oceanfront views, and partial ocean views. And of course, they also offer amenities such as Wi-Fi and air conditioning.

One of the things we particularly like about this hotel is how many of the rooms are named after famous Hollywood stars, such as Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.

7. The Dolphin Hollywood – 3 Star

Address: 315 McKinley Street, Hollywood, Florida 33019

We just love this Dolphin Hollywood – it ticks all the boxes!

First off, the superb location – it’s right across from the beach, just 50 yards away.

It’s less than 4 miles from downtown Hollywood, so it’s perfectly positioned for a day out to the shops or to enjoy restaurants, bars, and nightlife.

And it’s only 5 miles or so from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (see also “How Early Should You Get To The Airport?“), and less than a 10-minute walk to Hollywood Beach Theater. A fantastic location, we’re sure you’ll agree.

Every room has a flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi, and a dedicated parking spot available at a very small, reasonable fee.

The rooms are immaculate, and have great character, while also being a peaceful place to rest and unwind.
