Yaddo Gardens is less than three miles from Downtown Saratoga Springs. The design was inspired by European gardens and it was built in 1899 by financier Spencer Trask and his wife Katrina, who was a writer. 

Most of the estate is actually privately owned and used as a retreat for artists and writers, but most of the gardens are open to the public from the late spring until the early fall.
