1. Spa State Park

One of the things that Saratoga Springs is most known for is its natural springs, and Spa State Park is the best place to go and visit them for yourself.

The springs here have been used by Native Americans as far back as (at least!) the 1600s and the waters are known for their restorative and healing properties. 

You can explore the park and springs at your own pace, or you can take part in one of the many guided tours to learn more about the area.

You can even drink and take water from the springs and each one has its own unique mineral content! 

Be warned though, once you try this spring water, bottled water will never taste as good! 

2. The Roosevelt Spa

If you want to experience the spring water of Saratoga Springs in a different way, then you definitely need to check out the Roosevelt Spa.

7. Caffe Lena

There’s something about live music that just feels so good and if you are in the mood for some, then you simply have to visit Caffe Lena!

This location is actually the home of the oldest continually-operating coffee house in the United States, and you can go and listen to some incredible live folk music whenever you visit.

Lyrical Ballad has been in the city for over 40 years and it is home to over 100,000 books and antique prints and maps for you to check out.

9. Saratoga Lake

Saratoga Lake is the perfect place to visit if you want to spend the whole day enjoying the waterfront.

There are so many things for you to take part in and on the lake, some of which include beaches, a waterfront park, restaurants, and so much more! 

You will find people all over the lake swimming, fishing, and in boats and it is a really incredible place with a beautiful vibe. If you have the time, you should definitely rent out a boat.

While a lot of the lake is privately owned, the landowners actually have no issues with boats passing through.

You can captain the boat yourself or you can hire someone else to drive, so either way, you are sure to have a fantastic day on the lake. Make sure that you stay until sunset because the views from the river are out of this world! 

10. Yaddo Gardens

Yaddo Gardens is less than three miles from Downtown Saratoga Springs. The design was inspired by European gardens and it was built in 1899 by financier Spencer Trask and his wife Katrina, who was a writer. 

Most of the estate is actually privately owned and used as a retreat for artists and writers, but most of the gardens are open to the public from the late spring until the early fall.

You will find lots of beautiful plants and flora here and its a great place to go and relax in nature.
